NFL Week 13: New York Jets at Minnesota Vikings Game Preview

Vikings stadium

The New York Jets are set to travel to U.S. Bank Stadium to take on the Minnesota Vikings in a week thirteen matchup. The Jets come into the game with a record of 7-4 and despite their incredible record through the first half of the season, they are still one game behind both the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills for first place in the AFC East. On the flip side, the Vikings enter the contest with a record of 9-2 and currently sit with a very comfortable five game lead over the Detroit Lions for first place in the NFC North. This should be a very interesting matchup and a battle between an elite offense and an elite defense. This game could easily being one of the best to watch through the early slate of games.

New York Jets Look to Make Up Ground In Tight AFC East Divisional Race

As previously mentioned, the Jets still sit in third place in the AFC East despite their very respectable record. As a result of the division they find themselves in, this is a must win game for New York if they hope to win the division. Last week, quarterback Zach Wilson was benched for backup Mike White. Previously, White has had some great performances with the Jets, and last week was another great game for him. He finished the game with 315 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions through the air in the Jets’ 31-10 win against the Chicago Bears. It is expected that the team will continue to start White unless they are out of playoff contention. White has done an incredible job with the Jets’ offense thus far through the season, and if he can continue to pay at this level, New York could end up being a very scary team.

Minnesota Vikings Hope to Continue Their Dominant Run Through the Season

The Minnesota Vikings have been one of the best teams in the NFL this season. They sit only one game behind the Philadelphia Eagles for the best record in the entire league. This week, they will have a very interesting matchup against the Jets. As previously mentioned, if Mike White puts up another elite performance this week, the Jets will be a very tough team to beat. However, the Vikings have much better pass coverage than the Bears. The most interesting matchup heading into the game comes between Justin Jefferson and Sauce Gardner. Jefferson arguably has been the best wide receiver in football this season. Last week, he had another elite performance against the New England Patriots in which he racked up nine catches for 139 yards and a touchdown. Gardner has been one of the best corners in the league so far and has been very impressive in his rookie campaign. If he is able to lock up Jefferson, it would do wonders to his odds of bringing home the rookie of the year award. While it will be hard fought, the Vikings should be able to once again take care of business.
