The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to travel to Highmark Stadium take on the Buffalo Bills in a week five matchup. The Steelers are coming into the game with a record of 1-3 after taking three consecutive losses to the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, and New York Jets. Last week, they were defeated by the Jets by a final score of 24-20. Although their record is below .500, the Steelers have been competitive in every game they have played in this season.

Buffalo comes into the game with a record of 3-1. Last week, they took down a very talented Baltimore Ravens team by a final score of 23-20. The Bills are one of the best teams in football right now. They have gone on a dominant run thus far to open the season and have proven themselves as one of the best on both sides of the ball. It will be an uphill battle for the Steelers to win this game.

Pittsburgh Steelers Give Rookie Quarterback Kenny Pickett His First Career Start

This week could easily turn disastrous for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are giving their rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett his first career NFL start this week against the Bills. As previously mentioned, the Bills have one of the most fierce defenses in the entire league. This is not the team that you want a rookie quarterback to begin their stint as a starter against, however, Mike Tomlin and the rest of the Steelers coaching staff believe that Pickett is ready.

He took over the starting job last week during the game against the Jets. Although Pickett could not lead the Steelers to victory,

Pickett will not be much of a drop off, and likely will even play better than Mitchell Tribisky who started in front of him to open the season. Mitch looked terrible to open the season and within less than four weeks, he already lost his starting job. Despite the potential improvement, the Steelers rushing game and defense will have to really step up if they hope to take down the Bills.

Buffalo Bills Look to Continue Their Run of Dominance

On the flip side, this should be an easy game to win for the Bills. Although Pittsburgh has a talented defense, the Bills have been able to score on anyone this season. Josh Allen has been clicking on all cylinders and he could be potentially putting together an MVP caliber season.

The Bills’ defense could be well on their way to a huge game against the Steelers. With one of the most ferocious pass rushes this year, the Bills will have Kenny Pickett running for his life play after play.

After facing very talented teams in the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens in back to back weeks, this is a much needed game for the Bills. They should be able to rest their starters through the fourth quarter or possibly through the entire second half as long as they show up to play to open the game.
