The Philadelphia Eagles are set to travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Giants in a week 14 divisional matchup. The Eagles come into the game with the best record in the NFL at 11-1. As a result of this, they also sit in first place in the NFC East, currently sitting two games in front of the Dallas Cowboys. On the flip side, the New York Giants enter the contest with a record of 7-4-1 and currently are one game in front of the Washington Commanders for third place in the NFC East. This game could go on to have some long term effects in the NFC East divisional race. With the Giants still being a very talented football team, anything could happen in this matchup.
Philadelphia Eagles Look to Continue Their Run as the Best Team In the NFL
As previously mentioned, the Philadelphia Eagles have been the best team in football this season. If it had not been for a rough game against the Washington Commanders, they still could very well still be an undefeated team. They are elite on both sides of the ball, making them such a tough team to beat. There is not a particular positional group that is a major weak point for the Eagles. As a result of this, they are almost impossible to game plan for. They are coming off of a very dominant 35-10 win against the Tennessee Titans. In that game, Jalen Hurts had a remarkable game through the air, finishing the contest throwing for 380 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Along with this, he picked up another 12 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The defensive unit did a remarkable job of taking Derrick Henry out of the game as well. He was held to an out of character 30 rushing yards and zero touchdowns on only 11 carries. With another tough running back matchup this week facing off against Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia’s defense will once again have to step up to the plate.
New York Giants Hope to Pull Off Upset to Stay Out of Last Place in the NFC East
While the New York Giants have a very tall task in front of them against the Philadelphia Eagles, there is still a solid chance that they could pull off the upset. The Giants have been overshadowed this season simply because of the division they play in. With the Eagles and Cowboys having such great seasons, it has resulted in the Giants being cast to the side. This week, they have an incredible chance to reenter the conversation and it would do wonders for their playoff chances. New York is coming off of a rough three game stretch in which they have gone 0-2-1. Last week, they were locked in a 20-20 stalemate with the Washington Commanders that ended in a tie. While this is not the most promising performance coming into a matchup with an elite team like the Eagles, if Barkley has a big game, and the defense is able to slow down Philadelphia’s passing attack, they could pull off the upset.
