The Los Angeles Rams are set to travel to Lumen Field to take on the Seattle Seahawks in a week eighteen divisional matchup. The Rams come into the game with a record of 5-11 and currently sit in third place in the NFC West. On the flip side, the Seahawks enter the contest with a record of 8-8 and are currently placed third in the NFC West. While the Rams do not have much to play for this week, Seattle’s postseason hopes depend on this game. If the Seahawks can not find a way to pull out a win this week, they will be eliminated from playoff contention. As a result of this, expect them to come out of the game ready to play some of their best football of the year.
Los Angeles Rams Hope to End Rough Season on a High Note With a Win
Looking at the current standings, it would be hard to believe that the Los Angeles Rams were preparing for what would be a Super Bowl winning playoff run at this time last season. They have been one of the worst teams in football this season, however, it has not been entirely their fault. They took some massive hits to the roster due to free agency and retirements over the offseason. Along with this, they have had some crucial injuries to some of their most important players throughout the season. While the future in Los Angeles remains up in the air heading into the offseason, they find themselves with the opportunity to ruin the season of a division rival. Last time the Rams and Seahawks faced off this season, Seattle came out on top by a final score of 27-23. Los Angeles came into that game with their roster in shambles due to injuries. While they are still not fully recovered, they are in much better shape this week and still have a chance to give the Seahawks a run for their money. If Baker Mayfield can pull together an elite performance, it could be enough to kill Seattle’s playoff hopes.
Seattle Seahawks Look to Potentially Cinch Final Wild Card Spot In NFC With Win
Last week, the Seattle Seahawks took a crucial win over the New York Jets by a final score of 23-6. Seattle played a great game of football and did exactly what they needed to do to keep their season alive. They still have their backs against the wall this week and find themselves in another must win game. However, just beating the Rams will not be enough to get Seattle into the playoffs. Along with a win over Los Angeles, the Detroit Lions must also beat the Green Bay Packers.
The last time these two teams played, Geno Smith had an incredible day through the air. He finished the contest throwing for 367 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. If he is able to replicate that performance this week and the Seattle defense is able to hold firm, there is no reason why the Seahawks should not come out of this game with a win.
