The New York Jets are set to travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers in a week six matchup. Both the Jets and the Packers come into the game with records of 3-2. Along with this, both teams are also currently tied for second place in their respective divisions. Despite the almost identical starts to the season for the Jets and Packers, they are in very different places. The Jets came into the season projected to once again be one of the worst teams in the NFL. No one thought that they would get off to this great of a start and be able to continue to close games out. On the flip side, the Packers were more or less the consensus favorites to win the NFC North. Although they are only one game behind, they have not looked like the Super Bowl contending team that they entered the season hoping to be.
The New York Jets Look to Continue Hot Streak After Win Over Miami Dolphins
Last week, the New York Jets were the beneficiaries of a very favorable matchp against the Miami Dolphins. In the early weeks of the 2022 season, the Dolphins looked like one of the most electric teams in football. However, after quarterback Tua Tungaviola suffered a serious head injury against the Cincinnati Bengals, he was forced to sit out last week against the Jets. Along with this, Dolphins backup Teddy Bridgewater was also injured and the Dolphins were forced to play Skylar Thompson.
The Jets took advantage of the inexperienced quarterback and ended up winning the game by a final score of 40-17. This week against Green Bay will be a much tougher matchup for the Jets and their defense. While Aaron Rodgers has not played up to the MVP level he has in the past two seasons, he is capable of dominating any game he plays in.
The Jets’ offense has been a very unexpected bright spot for the team in recent weeks, and they should be able to hold their own in this week’s matchup.
Green Bay Packers Look to Make Up Ground In the NFC North
The Green Bay Packers are coming off of a 27-22 loss against the New York Giants. This is a game that the Packers wish they could have back and would have them tied for first place in their division. However, they have another very winnable game this week against the Jets. While the Packers will come into the game as favorites, it is crucial that they still take this matchup seriously. Up to this point of the season, they have not played to the level they are capable of and as a result of this, they have had some very close games or even lost games to teams they are much better than. If they are not careful, this could easily happen once again this week. The Jets are a very sneakily talented team this season. While they likely will not make the playoffs, they are liable to pull off an upset any week and the Packers are a team that has already fallen victim to a trap game like this.
