The Minnesota Vikings are set to travel to Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears in a week eighteen divisional matchup. The Vikings come into the game with a record of 12-4. They currently sit atop of the NFC North and hold a four game lead over the second place Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. On the flip side, the Bears enter the contest with a near league worst 3-13 record. They are currently in the basement of the NFC North, placed five games behind the Lions and Packers. Despite their terrible record this season, the Bears are still a talented team and have proven themselves to be very difficult to game plan against. Although they have struggled to close out games this season, if the Vikings allow the game to get away from them, they may not be able to make a late game comeback against Chicago.
Minnesota Vikings Look to Close Out Regular Season Strong With Win
The Minnesota Vikings are coming off of a rough 41-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings were simply embarrassed in this game. Their offense could not get anything going and their defense was doing the team no favors either. This was a very surprising performance from Minnesota especially when considering the quality of their opponent. The Packers have been a team that has struggled their way through the season and are finally beginning to pull things together. This was a very concerning sign for the Vikings and they will be looking to get things back on track this week against the Bears.
This game will serve as the perfect opportunity for the Vikings to bounceback from a tough stretch. As we get closer and closer to the playoffs, Minnesota appears to be losing the dominance that they had earlier on in the year. This is a very concerning sign from what many believed could be a team that is contending for a conference championship. However, they should have little issue taking care of business this week and putting up some big numbers in the process.
Chicago Bears Hope to Pull Off Final Upset to End the Year
Last week, the Chicago Bears were decimated by the Detroit Lions by a final score of 41-10. Chicago was dominated on both sides of the ball, and it was made clear that there is still a lot of progress to be made before the rebuild is near complete. Despite this, there have still been some bright spots on the team throughout the season. They will have to play one of their best games of the year this week to compete with the Vikings. Although Minnesota has struggled as of late, they are still one of the most dangerous and well rounded teams in the league.
Justin Fields will have to have one of his best games of the year for Chicago to pull off one of the biggest upsets of the season. Along with this, the defense must step up and find a way to slow down Minnesota’s passing attack.
