The Chicago Bears are set to travel to Mercedes Benz Stadium to take on the Atlanta Falcons in a week eleven matchup. The Bears are coming into the game with a 3-7 record and currently sit in last place in the NFC North. Despite their disappointing record so far this season, there have still been some very bright spots to takeaway from this season. On the flip side, the Atlanta Falcons come into the game with a 4-6 record and sit one game behind the Tampa Bay Bucaneers for first place in the NFC South. This could end up being a very close game and a must watch on the 1:00 PM slate.
Chicago Bears Look to Recover From Back to Back Losses
Despite playing some of their best football of the season in the past two weeks, the Chicago Bears have still suffered back to back losses. Between those two games, the Bears only lost by a collective four points. First, they were defeated by the Miami Dolphins by a final score of 35-32. They followed this up by a 31-30 loss to the Detroit Lions last week. Although they lost both of these games, the Bears offense seems like it has finally begun to click and quarterback Justin Fields is really coming into his own. They will have an opportunity to show out again this week against an Atlanta Falcons defense that gives up the second most yards per game in the NFL.
While the offense has been on a tear, the Bears’ defensive unit have been struggling even against mediocre offenses. With the defensive unit losing some talent at the trade deadline, this is not too surprising. However, for Chicago to win games like their last two, it is crucial that they step up.
Atlanta Falcons Hope to Make Up Lost Ground In the NFC South
The Atlanta Falcons are in a spot in which every game may be a must win for them to close out the season. As previously mentioned, they are in a tight race for first place in the NFC South. If they are unable to clinch their division, they likely will not be able to make it to the postseason. As a result of this, their defense must step up and shut down Chicago’s offensive unit that has torched their past two opponents. If they are able to limit Justin Fields in the rushing game, they may have a chance of slowing down the Bears, however, Atlanta’s defense has not been able to get much going for them this season.
If the defense is unable to slow down the Beats, this game could end up being a shoot out. While on paper the Falcons do not have the most talented offense in the league, they have the fourth best rushing attack in the NFL. With a dual threat quarterback in Marcus Mariota paired with versatile weapons around him, the Falcons can be a tricky team to stop, and their offense may have to be the unit to lead Altanta to victory this week.
