The Green Bay Packers are set to travel to Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears in a week thirteen divisional matchup. The Packers come into the game with a record of 4-8 and currently in third place in the NFC North, half a game behind the Detroit Lions. On the flip side, the Bears enter the contest with a record of 3-9 and are in last place in the NFC North. If the Bears manage to pull off the upset this week, they would be able to jump the Packers for third place in the division. With there being lots of history between the two teams and a lot on the line in, terms of divisional standings, this could end up being a must watch.
Green Bay Packers Look to End Rough Two Game Losing Streak
The Green Bay Packers have been a very disappointing team this season. Coming into the year, many thought they would be battling with the Minnesota Vikings for first place in the NFC North, however, over halfway through the season, they find themselves battling with the Bears to stay out of last place. However, it appears that things could be headed in the right direction. Although they suffered a loss last week to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Packers still made it a very competitive game, losing by a final score of 40-33.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a rib injury that forced him to leave that game. He finished the contest throwing for 140 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Backup Jordan Love really stepped up to the plate and shined in one of the few chances he has gotten through his career. In his nine passing attempts, Love threw for 113 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. It appears that Rodgers will be able to return to play this week against Chicago. With his job possibly being on the line with the promising performance from Love, Rodgers could end up having one of his best games this season. He has a lengthy track record of going for incredible passing performances against Chicago, and this could be another game added to the list.
Chicago Bears Hope to Keep Things Competitive With Justin Fields Sidelined
The Bears will likely come into the game shorthanded. Quarterback Justin Fields ended up being sidelined due to an injury after being considered a game time decision against the New York Jets. With the Bears not being in a win now mode, it is safe to assume that they will be playing this injury safe as they are already likely out of playoff contention. Last week, Trevor Simian had a very disappointing performance against the New York Jets. He finished the game with 179 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Although they will be facing a worse defense this week, the Bears will still struggle to move the ball. This game will have to be led by the defense if the Bears are able to pull out a win.
