The NFL is made up of two conferences and in each conference are four divisions. Each division is made up of four teams, making 32 teams in the NFL. The power dynamic in the two divisions is pretty fluid and can change from year to year. Over the history of the Super Bowl, the NFC currently leads the AFC in Super Bowl wins with a very close record of 29-27.

The four divisions that are in the AFC are the AFC North, AFC East, AFC South, and AFC West. The Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers make up the AFC North. The Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and New York Jets are in the AFC East. The teams in the AFC South are the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tennessee Titans. Contenders in the AFC
The teams that will be contenders or borderline contenders in the AFC this season are the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns (if Deshaun Watson plays), Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and Los Angeles Chargers. The AFC is a loaded conference this season specifically in the AFC North and AFC West. Even with the playoffs being recently expanded, there will still be some very talented teams watching the playoffs from home in the AFC this year.
Contenders in the NFC
The teams that will be contenders or borderline contenders in the NFC this season are the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, and San Francisco 49ers. There are not as many contenders in the NFC this season, however, the top teams in the NFC have just as good of a chance at winning a Super Bowl as the top teams in the AFC.
AFC vs NFC prediction 2022?
Overall, the AFC is a much stronger conference this season from top to bottom. There are a plethora of teams in the AFC this season that have a genuine shot at making a deep playoff run coming into the season. The same cannot be said about the NFC. However, as previously mentioned, teams like the Buccaneers and Rams have some of the best odds to bring home the Super Bowl LVII 2023.
